ePortfolios and Assessment
By Barbara Bray    January 29, 2010 -- 01:19 PM

We are gearing up our focus on authentic assessment strategies with ePortfolios. We are in the process of building a team with steps for you to create ePortfolios based on your individual learning plans. Our dream is that you and your students have ongoing support and access to the tools you need to demonstrate evidence of learning and reflect on your progress in meeting your learning goals.

We found that if we design a generic scope and sequence or curriculum map, the individual learning plan generated may be too vague or not include specific learning opportunities that will work with each teacher or student. Barbara Bray created an online assessment based on the old ISTE NETS for Teachers that was utilized by districts and universities around the world. It was designed in 1996 and needs to be updated to the new ISTE standards, so it was taken down. However, we are being approached by organizations around the world who want to use it if it was updated.

We are looking for schools or districts who understand that change takes time, that the only way to make change is to take risks, and believe the only way to improve teaching quality and increase student achievement is to change. Contact us if you would like to be a partner with My eCoach in:
  • the development of a scope and sequence based on the New ISTE NETS standards and a curriculum map based on your content standards.
  • designing a self-assessment that generates individual learning plans based on your learning opportunities.
  • creating a professional development program that is ongoing and cost-effective.
