Being at NECC in San Antonio is what I need right now; gathering ideas, meeting new and old friends, learning, and more learning. I am sitting in the Blogger's Cafe reviewing the comments from yesterday's Edubloggercon. While I was waiting in the airport I watched Vicki Davis UStream from her session. What is Edubloggercon?
An international all-day "meetup" of educational bloggers and those
using collaborative technologies will take place on Saturday, June
28th, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio just
before the start of NECC. All are invited--whether you yourself blog,
are just an educational blog reader, or even just want to hang out with
an interesting group of people. The event is free, and you can indicate
that you are coming (and see who else will be there) here at the
Edubloggercon wiki. This event is based on the idea of an "unconference",
and is being organized by the participants in real time on the
wiki. It's maybe better referred to as a "collaborative conference."
There were over 150 people in attendance - all the names you read online. What a cool idea! An unconference where the attendees either have the opportunity to submit a presentation or vote on attending several of the presentations. All of the different Web 2.0 tools were used to its fullest. An interactive poll was used to track numbers in each session.
