By Sara Armstrong    April 29, 2008 -- 08:55 AM

A lot of discussion has been generated about the idea of "digital natives" and "digital immigrants" since Marc Prensky first coined the terms. While it is true that today’s students have never been without technology, it is also the case that many adults have been pioneers in the use of technology in education, and are essential in the role of guding our students in effective and appropriate use. (This mind map is from Wikipedia.)

This presentation was prepared for the Bay Area Regional Consortium (BARC) meeting (California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) Region IV on April 29, 2008. The resources below are meant to provide an introduction for deep discussions about the use of Web 2.0 tools in teaching and learning.

Some new sites were added for the National Academy Foundation session, "Effective Integration of Technology into the Curriculum in Our Digital Age," on July 8, 2008.
