Activity Description

We celebrate the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in February each year for the contributions they made while being presidents of our country. In this activity the student will choose a president to campaign for. The student will be assigned to a team that will research for information about the candidate and the candidate’s opponent, create a brochure for their candidate, and give an oral presentation to persuade voters to cast a vote for their candidate.




Activity Directions

1. Use the venn diagram handout to organize research on George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

2. Form campaign teams based on like interests. (2-3 per team)

3. Use publisher to create a brochure to promote the teams candidate.

4. Present brochures to potential voters. (classmates or another class)
