Activity Description

For this project you will use PowerPoint, MovieMaker, and Sound Recorder to create an eBook. Your eBook will be shared with students in the elementary school.




Activity Directions

1. Choose a short story to narrate or write your own. Select from the websites listed in the Resource section.

2. Divide the story into small, logical sections and paste the sections onto PowerPoint slides. Remember not to make the passages too long.

3. Select a background for your PowerPoint slides. Use the websites listed in the Resource section.

4. Make sure to include a title slide that lists the author and narrator as well as credits and citation for clipart and sound files.

5. Save your presentation as jpegs.

6. Import the jpegs into MovieMaker.

7. Record the narration using Sound Recorder. See the handout in the Resource section for instructions.

8. Locate appropriate background music to enhance the story. Use the website listed in the Resource section.

9. Import the narration files and background music into Movie Maker.

10. Use the editing tools in Movie Maker to correlate the slides, narration, and background music.

11. Get feedback on your project from at least two other classmates. Make corrections or improvements as needed.

12. Render the final project as a movie.

13. Sign-up to share your ebook with an elementary class.
