Alcatraz

By Peggy Benton
Alcatraz Island, also known as "The Rock", is a small island located in the middle of the San Francisco Bay in California that served as a lighthouse, then a military fort, and then a federal prison until 1963. It is now used as a tourist spot and recreation area. Visitors can reach the island by ferry from Pier 33. This picture shows the San Francisco Bay in its true form: foggy and windy.

"My eCoach® has been an invaluable tool for developing projects with other teachers. It helps us to start with the standards, consider what we want our students to learn, and stay focused throughout the process. When we are finished, we have a complete project plan to use with our students and to share with colleagues. The plan looks professional and contains links to all the needed resources."
