Bird on Rock

Close-up of a gull perched on a rock. Though it is hard to tell, it looks like a California Gull, a bird native to the Western United States. California Gulls have a small yellow beak with a black ring, yellow rings, brown eyes and a rounded head. The body is mostly white with a grey back and wings. California as a whole has seen declining numbers of the birds but their population in the San Francisco Bay has skyrocketed.
