Summary This is an inquiry-based (everyone asks questions) and inter-disciplinary lesson (Math, Science, and Technology). It is suitable for all learners through the use of Multimedia (audio, video, and graphics). It is appropriate for small and varied grouping of four members and mixed ability groups. The tasks include the use of Productivity Tools (Microsoft Word and Graphic Designs) and Research Tools (search engines and designated websites).
Rationale Through a program called Project FeederWatch, we can now give our students a chance to work with scientists from Cornell University and guide their understanding of the movement patterns and population fluctuations of many common birds. This will help ensure the survival of these lovely creatures and possibly encourage our students to become scientists as well.
