My Environment
Our middle school has approximately 350 students in grades 5-8. Over 1/3 are considered to be economically disadvantaged and about 1/4 are considered to be at-risk. In addition to core curriculum, programs include ESL; resource reading, English, and math; and gifted/talented classes with enrichment in all academic areas.
My Roles and Responsibilities
I teach four classes of 6th grade science (average 21 per class) with varying ability levels. I also teach one class 7th grade science and one class of gifted/talented 7th & 8th grade students.
