My Environment Our middle school has approximately 350 students in grades 5-8. Over 1/3 are considered to be economically disadvantaged and about 1/4 are considered to be at-risk. In addition to core curriculum, programs include ESL; resource reading, English, and math; and gifted/talented classes with enrichment in all academic areas.
My Roles and Responsibilities I teach four classes of 6th grade science (average 21 per class) with varying ability levels. I also teach one class 7th grade science and one class of gifted/talented 7th & 8th grade students.
My Philosophy Flip Flippen's Leadership philosophy engage students as they enter your class daily and win their heads before you win their heads. Maslow's heirarchy of needs is the foundation of my classroom management.
