My Philosophy
The art of teaching ideas and concepts in a way that is both engaging and inspiring is a teacher's daily challenge. Through experience, I have learned that knowing the students I teach is the most important step. My definiton of "knowing" my students extend beyond knowing their individual learning style. Being aware of my students' family, culture, and community plays a significant role in the way I teach. It allows me to be a more understanding and responsive teacher.
My Environment
I have taught elementary and middle school in Houston, Los Angeles and Oakland (Northern California). I have also taught in Okinawa, Japan in a dual Japanese-English language school.
My Roles and Responsibilities
I'm a Head eCoach at My eCoach. I coach teachers, mentors and teacher educators throughout the United States and beyond. So, if you are an eCoach or player in My eCoach Online, please feel free to ask for my help when you see me logged in. I make every effort to respond as quickly as I can!
I also work with a multi-cultural resources educational company, Ethnic Arts & Facts.
