I've done podcasting recently with my Spanish students in the high school classroom. It's worked great! We used Audacity, a free program you can download, and then students were able to convert the podcasts to mp3s and listen to them on their ipods even. You can easily download audacity from http://audacity.sourceforge.net, and then you just need microphones to record. Good luck!
