After preparing students for the FCAT, teachers are feeling a bit stressed and so are some of the students, so a stress reliever is needed.

FCAT Reading, Math, and Science are administered in March which also happens to be called the "windy" month, so flying kites just seemed like the thing to do.

Our first year students were told to purchase kites beforehand during morning announcements, posters were hung, and information was posted on the PMAC bulletin board. The week before, kites were purchased and sold to the students for $1.00.

The second year, we had one 5th grade teacher that integrated the activity into her math lessons and students made their own kites and our PTA purchased kites for each other student.
