Music is a fun and effective resource for the beginning Spanish classroom! It introduces students to pop culture in different Spanish-speaking countries, helps them improve their listening skills, shows them how vocabulary and grammar are used in context, and engages them in class. Music can be woven into lessons in a variety of ways across all levels of Spanish. In the beginning levels, I use music mostly in Setting the Stage, Comprehensible Input, and Guided Practice activities. I also use songs to complement cultural lessons.
