Summary Fifth and sixth graders will work collaboratively making connections between standards and discuss what the United States learned from ancient civilizations. This project is set to improve fifth and sixth graders comprehension of the standards and to help them understand why it is important to learn history.
Rationale In a fifth and sixth grade split class, it is difficult to make connections to the two very different set of history standards. Students need to understand that it is equally important to study United States history and ancient history.
