Summary Fourth grade students will work together in six groups to answer the question: How does the geography and climate affect the way people live and work in the Southeast? The groups will collect data on the internet and create a database in Appleworks. They will then create an iMovie using this information. The students will then research the population growth in the Southeast and create a timeline using Timeliner. Using distance learning technology, students will be able to talk to students in Orlando, Florida. They will compare their climates and the way people live in that region. Students will write a persuasive letter to their parents trying to convince them that the Southeast would be a much better place to live than the Midwest. As a culminating activity, students will arrange a trip to the Southeast with Disney, in Orlando, as the final destination.
