Time to Complete Project:
1 hour a day for 3 days each week for 6 weeks.
Summary
Fifth grade students will be exposed to the history of aviation through a timeline and a scavenger hunt. They will gain an understanding of Newton and his three Laws of Motion, four Forces of Flight, and how a plane is controlled through teacher demonstrations and student activities. Students will research important aviators and present their biographies. Finally, they will gain an awareness of technology through a video conference and a visit to a local aviation center.
