  • How morals and values are important in a leadership role.
  • The struggles faced everyday by the United States President.
Learning Objectives
  • Students will evaluate the different character traits of past and present Presidents to decide who best fits each role of a team.
  • Students will summarize the decision making skills of Presidents and justify the rational for choosing that President.
  • Students will write a brief explaination for each Presidents role on the team.
  • Students will create a poster in the Pro Formation outlining their team.

History
SOC-8-5. The student understands the challenges confronted by the government and its leaders in the early years of the Republic.
SOC-8-5.A. Describe major domestic problems faced by the leaders of the new Republic such as maintaining national security, creating a stable economic system, setting up the court system, and defining the authority of the central government.
SOC-8-5.E. Trace the foreign policies of Presidents Washington through Monroe and explain the impact of Washington's Farewell Address and the Monroe Doctrine.
Government
SOC-8-16. The student understands the American beliefs and principles reflected in the U.S. Constitution and other important historic documents.
SOC-8-16.D. Analyze how the U.S. Constitution reflects the principles of limited government, republicanism, checks and balances, federalism, separation of powers, popular sovereignty, and individual rights.
