Can We Move to the Southeast?

Instructional Time: 50 minutes a day for 3 days

Process:
The teacher will discuss letter writing. A review of the parts of a friendly letter will be displayed and talked about.
A letter that has a number of errors in it should then be given to students to label the parts and make corrections.
A persuasive letter will be displayed and discussed as an example for the task that students will be asked to do.
Students should now have a background of knowledge about different areas in the Southeast. Students will write a one page persuasive letter to their parents trying to convince them to move to a particular city or state in the Southeast.
