My Philosophy
I believe all children naturally love to explore, learn, and succeed. Good teaching is tapping into and challenging their natural curiosity. With high expectations from their teachers and families, they will go far.
My Community
Martin is in a primarily hispanic neighborhood where many kids walk to school. Families are working-class, and 75% of school is on free or reduced lunch.
My Environment
Students are primarily hispanic. Martin's population also has a small number of Filipinos, Pacific Islanders (Fijian, Samoan, etc), blacks, and caucasians. 25 teachers, 400 students.
My Roles and Responsibilities
I teach 3rd grade, and I have 20 students. Many are below grade level in their reading and math, and most are English Language learners.
