My Philosophy
As an educator, instructional technologist, and leader, I believe: Students need to develop skills and competencies that will them to grow both personally and professionally. As educators and leaders, we need to be professional, organized, knowledgeable, and prepared. The student-centered learning environment should be interesting, stimulating and as realistic as possible. All students are important and unique individuals. It is important to listen carefully to what they are saying, and treat everyone equally and fairly. Students need to know that we all are only human—admitting we made a mistake is a sign of strength and not weakness. Students look to us as a source of motivation. We should work hard to inspire them and make the classroom an exciting place to learn. Teachers and administrators are models and need to lead by example. In order for students to become future leaders, they need strong leadership. There needs to be a partnership between business and education. We should use the resources in our community to help our students learn. Learning is a lifelong process. We should continue learning about the latest research, technology, and trends in the field of education.
My Community
Springdale is the Heart of Northwest Arkansas. The residents of NWA are friendly and outgoing. NWA is blessed with natural beauty, four distinct seasons and a host of recreational opportunities for both rural and urban tastes. First class hotels, restaurants and shopping rival what cities three times our size can offer.
