My Philosophy I believe in embracing student diversity, by teaching pride and love of one's own heritage. I also believe in using as methods of teaching to engage the variety of student intelligences and ways of learning.
My Community Malcolm X Academy is located in Humter's Point a low-income neigborhood, in the East side of San Francisco surrounded by industrial business. The school is made up of primarily African-American's but also has many Latino and Pacific Islander students.
My Environment Malcolm X is a small school, K-5 with about 8 teachers with classes ranging from 12-25 students. It is a low-income, low-performance school. There are little resources available.
My Roles and Responsibilities I student teach in a fourth grade classroom of 24 students. There are 4 English Language Learners and about 10 children with learning disabilities. The level of achievment range is great.
