My personal philosophy of teaching is to engage students in the material by using content that they find relevant and exciting. Learning is something that we naturally do when we're interested in something. I hope to set high expectations that will motivate my students to see their true abilities.
The community where I live and work is a suburb about 20 minutes from San Francisco. It is an ethnically and economically diverse community.
I am currently at San Francisco State University's credential program, and will be student teaching in a suburban public school that uses Montessori methods.
I want to teach and be a positive male role model in each of my student's lives. This is important for me because I grew up without a positive male role model and feel as though I can relate to students in similar situations. I also believe that my interests in music and history will be an asset to both the classroom and the school. I look forward to positively affecting each of my students.
