What role do biomes play?

adaptation - a change in an organism to better fit an ecosystem

biome - a vary large area of the world that has unique weather and plants

carnivore - an animal that eats other animals

climate - the weather that an area has had over a long period of time

consumers - eat other living things

decomposers - break down dead plants and animals

ecosystem

food chain -
shows a direct link between an animal and the thing it eats and is eaten by

a complex arrangement of food chains

habitat - the place in an ecosystem in which an organism lives

nutrient - a substance in food or soil that plants and animals need to survive

organism - any living thing

population - a group of organisms of one species that live in an area at the same time

predators - animals that hunt and eat other animals

prey - animals that are hunted and eaten

- an organism that makes its own food


species - the lowest level of a classification system

temperate - a type of climate that is not too hot or too cold
