After 51 years, Kings Highway Elementary School closed its doors

for the last time at the end of the 2008-2009 school year. Kings Highway Elementary was a neighborhood school. We serviced 450-500 students in PreK through 5th grade during our last year. We had a wonderfully diverse population of students.

     We were very fortunate in the amount of technology available at our school. We had several portable computer labs, a computer lab in the media center, computers available in the classroom and our 3rd-5th grades were Dell Model classrooms with projectors, document cameras, Interwrite Pads, and laptops loaded with software. Our 1st grade team had Smart Boards in their rooms and others had projectors and document cameras. Our staff continuously rose to the challenge of implementing technology into our daily curriculum.

     We also had a Science Lab and a beautiful outdoor classroom known as KHE’s Water-Friendly Wildlife Habitat.
