Eligibility Requirements: Each scholarship fund has specific eligibility criteria, deadline dates and award amounts which were defined by the donor when the fund was established. *Associated Students of Evergreen Valley College

Eligibility Requirements: Be a senior at OG, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, apply to EVC and enroll in at least 9.0 units for Fall 2009 semester at EVC and attend at least one Associated Students workshop.

Award Amount: $250

 

*San Jose/Evergreen Community College District Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: Be a graduating high school senior entering EVC or San Jose City College in the Fall 2009 semester. Two letters of recommendation and an essay are required to apply.

Award Amount: $250 each semester

Eligibility Requirements: Be a graduate with a GPA of at least 2.5, enroll in a participating career college and you may also be requested to demonstrate commitment to community service and/or financial need.

CAA Youth Scholarship Program

Eligibility Requirements: Must be a child of a full-time active duty law enforcement and/or fire service personnel. The parent or guardian may not be on disability. Parents/guardians who are volunteer members of a California fire department are accepted as well. Student must write an essay about how their parent or guardian helps secure their community.

Deadline: April 11

Award Amounts: $1000 - $10,000

 

Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority Inc. National Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: Female high school senior, minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate leadership abilities through campus/off campus organizations.

Peninsula Insurance Women’s Association

Eligibility Requirements: Minimum GPA of 2.75, verified by an official transcript, essay of no more than 2 pages in length answering their specific essay topic.

San Jose UNICO Concetta D’Ambrosio Foundation

Eligibility Requirements: Cover letter says that the only requirement for eligibility is to be a resident of Santa Clara County. However they mention favorable applicants will have taken the SAT/ACT, and be “recommendable to a college or university by his/her high school, have participated in some sort of extra-curricular and community activity and have decent grades as they request a transcript.

Lt. Jose A. Santiago Memorial Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: No apparent requirements other than the intention of attending college. In the application process you are asked to write a personal statement and answer questions about your goals and aspirations, school, community and/or extra curricular activities and how you would use this scholarship to assist you in reaching your long-range goals that are beyond a college degree.

Eligibility Requirements: Must be a JUNIOR, who is an athlete with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and is a resident of Santa Clara County.

Eligibility Requirements: Copy of all SAT/ACT scores, academic recommendation letter from at least 3 teachers and 1 counselor and an essay between 2 and 5 pages, addressing one of their topics.

Eligibility Requirements: Must be of Chinese descent, resident of Santa Clara County with a great academic abilities as well as commitment to community service.

Eligibility Requirements: Bay area high school graduates, who have been accepted at a 4 year college, who are “financially disadvantaged.” (Annual family income $40,000.00 or less)

Eligibility Requirements: Must have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 2.7, have made a substantial contribution to the community, be involved in school activities, require financial assistance to attend college.

AES Engineers Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: Their belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluated the essays that are submitted.
