My desire is to continue making a successful transition from working as an accomplished IT-Security professional into the Education arena.
Technology is something that should be embraced and respected, but not feared. Though this is only my second year teaching in a traditional school setting, I have learned a lot from fellow teachers, as well as, the students themselves.
I teach at a public high school in Southwest Florida where my focus is on providing an experiential learning environment for students by fusing Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences with Kagan Structures and encouraging students to challenge their own thought processes by removing excuses and implementing positive mental attitudes.
I teach U.S. History classes where the majority of students are Juniors, and an average of 25 students per class. Additionally, I taught Digital Design classes my first year of teaching and was able to help several students earn certification as Adobe Certified Associates in Photoshop. This current school year, I also taught one semester of J-ROTC-Defensives, which was a self-defense class for the school's J-ROTC cadets.
This ePortfolio will be utilized to document my journey as an Educator.
