Assessment

a. Pre-assessment:

  • Completion of pre-writing web graphic organizer for "hook" activity/activities.
  • Completion of pre-writing web graphic organizer for students’ choice establishment.


b. During the project:

  • Completed checklist of elements in an "excellent review" for self, and three team members (4 total).
  • Completed checklist of mechanics for self, and three team members (4 total).

Post-assessment:

  • Student self assessment, based on a rubric: Ability to work as a team player and honestly fill out the checklists for self and team members.

 

  • Student assessment of two classmates not in their own group, based on the elements of an excellent review and mechanics checklists.

 

  • Teacher assessment, based on a rubric: Extent to which the student showed evidence of completing each of the learning objectives as viewed through the lense of the grade-specific content standards.
