Am I meeting the expectations that are written out for me?
1.2f What do I do to help students generate and test hypotheses about new knowledge?
  • Organize students for cognitively complex tasks
  • Engage students in cognitively complex tasks involving hypothesis generating and testing
  • Provide resources and guidance
  • Use questioning techniques to promote learning

Helping students become critical thinkers is an on going process. Opportunities lie in all areas of curriculumn. After participating in iCamp last year, I have become familiar with Challenge-Based Learning. Using this aspect allows students to be the leaders of where they are directing the learning, and teacher doing the steering by providing the resources and guidance on how they test their hypothesis. These types of projects engage students in higher level of thinking and become good problem solvers.
