I’m a Teacher Librarian/Technology Coordinator and my focus is developing interactive student content and collaborative intelligence. I also love working with teachers to develop collaborative projects, web pages, learning links, etc. to empower student learning 24/7. Some of my recent projects include: Endangered Animals,  Earth DayHour of CodeDr. Seuss Birthday Bash, Penguins, International Dot Day, Spring bookFair 2015, among others. All of my projects launch from our Virtual Learning Commons Homepage you can see by clicking here.

My Philosophy

I know that all children can be successful learners if we connect with them through their interests, curiosity, and learning modalities and if we trigger their motivation to learn by making their educational experiences meaningful. Technology provides powerful tools to access, organize, synthesize, and share information; essential skills for success in today’s information society. Online communities provide a place to share ideas, collaborate, and learn together. We must provide learning experiences that prepare students to participate in an ever-growing global community.

My Community

I live in a small island city in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the neighborhood where I teach and the honor of watching my students as they grow into life long learners.

My Environment

Bay Farm School is a neighborhood K-8 school with a current population of approximately 630 students. Our parents are very supportive and together we form a community of enthusiastic readers and learners. We are currently in our 24th year and are implementing an Innovative Plan for 21st Century Learning, a plan that addresses our community’s needs and interests in developing students who become successful 21st century citizens.

Come learn with us!

My Roles and Responsibilities

I am Bay Farm School's Teacher Librarian and technology coordinator. I teach our K-8 students library, technology, 21st Century Learning and transliteracy skills during scheduled weekly visits to the Library.  I sponsor reading incentives and all-school activities to encourage a love of reading. I collaborate with teachers and parents in developing curriculum, learning experiences, and schoolwide events. I am a lead trainer for our school and district technology integration programs and professional development, and I support teachers as they integrate technology tools and strategies into their classrooms to support and improve instruction.
