International Dot Day!

What our students have to say about our schoolwide celebration of:

       International Dot Day:

Based on the book "The Dot" we made paper dots and wrote how we are going to make a difference in the world.

People got really creative in making their dots and sayings. Mrs. Clement put them all over the school and connected the dots. Lizzie C

International Dot Day is inspired by the book "The Dot" and we created different kinds of dots out of paper and wrote on them what were doing to make a difference in the world. We all made our mark on the world on International Dot Day. Gabby G

International Dot Day is really fun too, because it is really easy and you get to get creative with making pretty dots!

All you need to do is get out all your coloring tools (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.) of different colors each, use all the colors to make the most beautiful art in the shape of a dot as you can, and then, Voila!  You are done!  If you like to draw and make art for fun, and you want to show your masterpieces to other people and get credit for it, then join our school!   International Dot Day is when we make our own dots expressing our feelings. We first read the book Dot by Peter Reynolds. Then we make our own dots after saying what we could do to change the world. The possibilities are endless. Some people made them 3-D, big, small, cute, colorful, and many more. The Dot is a very inspirational book! It makes kids have more faith on what they do and don’t think what other people say. All you need are some supplies, it could even be just a pencil, and start making your own dot!  Sammie K.
