Day Four

This page is still under construction....we were so busy we didn't have time to post everything.....we are posting all week to catch up with all the moments and reflections!

Today we spent the whole day in New York City, which was really chaotic, colorful, and exciting! We saw Ellis Island and the Statue of Libraty. Trinity Cathedral, Wall Street, the Empire State Building, Times Square, and best of all, a Broadway show called "She Loves Me." I have a huge affinity for musical theatre, and seeing my first show in New York was incredible!Sammy Z

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

I never knew that Ellis Island was also originally an immigrant refugee camp that cared for immigrants while there. I also really loved the subway ride for some weird reason, probably becasue it was my first time. Obviously I loved alot the Boradway play; they were all breath taking and added to complete another amazing day on an amazing trip. Megan T

The trip to Ellis Island was the highlight of my day, I've always been fascinated with it. The monumental feeling of the island and its surroundings made me more enthusiastic about being in New York in general. The stories echoing in the walls of the museum really created a captivating experience. I found myself wondering about the contrast between the East coast and West coast in terms of their attitude towards immigration. Yasmine Z

Kenji S:

Times Square was amazing! I never knew that I would see so many blocks with shops and lights so bright even when it is 12:00 midnight! I got to shop for things but I only got one because I didn't need things, I just needed pictures. Cause pictures are souvenirs to me.

We went to Ellis Island today and saw the immigration buildings. We also saw the Statue of Liberty. We went to Times Square and shopped and then went to see "She Loves Me." Anthony M

Broadway Show: She Loves Me

Today was our second to the last day of the trip. This was the most action packed day out of the whole trip. We first went to Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty. We then went to the Empire State Building and went to the top to get some beautiful pictures. We then watched an exceedingly good Broadway show. That was the end of the day when we could finally rest. Mitchell T

To be honest, I couldn't even choose a favorite part of the today if I had to. Everything we did today was amazing and blew my mind. For example, seeing the view of the city from the top of the Empire State Building was a view I never could have imagined I'd see in a lifetime and I'm so lucky to have had this experience.

Shopping in Times Square couldn't compare to anything I've ever seen or had the opportunity to do ever in San Francisco or anywhere I've been.

This whole trip has blown my mind and has been so incrdible. It's been everything I've ever dreamed of and more. And if I could ever talk to any other kids that were going on this trip I would encourage so strongly to be so incredibly grateful to their parents, teachers, and EF who made this possible. Ava H
