Real Math!
How can we use free manipulatives at our disposal to make math real for students?
Project Description

Barbie's Goal

Barbie wants to go bungee jumping, but is unsure how many rubber bands she will need to fall safely from the 7 foot ladder. Barbie has agreed to allow a group of 8th grade math students to test out cords of varying lengths in smaller jumps.  Students will collect data to use in predicting her final rubber band cord length for the 7 foot jump.  Students will need to accurately measure the length of Barbie's fall, display the data in a table and graph, and develop an accurate equation that could be used to predict future falls.
