Professional Development                                                           

1.  Trainer of Teachers – Internal Consultant

• Developed, delivered and modeled how to enhance the curriculum through comprehensive balanced literacy, graphic arts, and educational technology:
• Trained K to 8^th Grade teachers in a series of After School workshops in Computer Graphics based on self-taught usage of Print Shop Deluxe Computer Graphics Program.
• Trained teachers in Comprehensive Balanced Literacy after attending monthly Community School District 11’s Communication Arts Meetings and Region 9’s Reading First Program.

2.  Teacher of students with learning difficulties -- Reading Specialist

• Developed unique and individualized curriculum in reading, writing, listening, speaking and presenting:
• Taught an overflow of 25 new admissions that were transferred from surrounding K to 5 schools in the English Language Arts and Social Studies content areas. Entire class passed and several students increased their former scores on the 2008 NYS ELA test.
• Helped students to become avid readers by using web sites and resources to differentiate instruction and engage students in the ELA performance standards
• Piloted a Creative Dramatics class using teen monologues and improvisation with general education and Honors students.

3.  Teacher of Actors -- Artistic Director

• Founder and Director of The Happy Medium, a Children’s Theatre group.

• Selected and directed musicals, secured grants, publicized events, and arranged tours.
